Prospective Students

The field of Architecture continues to assure greater demand with the ever increasing requirements of housing, designing and construction of various types of structures needed for the nation building. Due to increasing trend of urbanization, there is an increase in the demand of accommodation, both residential as well as industrial. Thus great opportunity exists for trained personnel in architectural field. There is also a great potential for architects to become successful entrepreneurs in architecture and allied fields.

BVDU’s College of Architecture provides a unique opportunity to prospective students to gain quality education in Architecture and become successful architectural professionals and influence the built environment.

COA has introduced a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for M. Arch. in 2014-15. For undergraduate program the syllabus revised to include CBCS in 2015 and is being implemented beginning in the summer semester 2015. The college has taken initiatives in virtual education program (since 2012) and Pilot Finishing School (since 2014). The College has:

Industry Interaction / Collaboration

The college has a very strong social outreach program and interaction with industry as evident from several collaborative activities it does with the local Municipal Corporation, energy authorities, and research activities with universities.

The college conducts and organizes various seminars, quiz competitions, workshops and exhibitions in association with various organizations.Some of the past activities include:

  • Exhibition for Lions Environment Expo 2014, and Constro 2014, 2016
  • The college has initiated and/or organised the following activities in the past:
  • Workshop for Earthquake risk management (February 2014), with PMC, DMC and NDMC
  • Pune Biennale 2013 and 2015 with Pune Municipal Corporation
  • Arcumen 2013-14 and 2014-15, with Ethos, India

The College has also regularly, organized lectures and workshops in association with Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID).

The College faculty members are actively engaged with and many are active members of various professional organizations such as COA, IIA, IIID, ISOLA, ITPI, IUDI, AESA, PCERF, and FEED.

Collaborations

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University has signed formal MOUs with following institutions for academic and consulting collaboration.

  • School of Urban and Regional Planning, Queen’s University at Kingston, Canada
